How care works

Care chosen for you, not a set package

Leo explains each technique, what you may feel and any risks before he starts. You can say no to any part of it.

Hands-on care

Chiropractic adjustments, joint mobilisation and soft tissue work, chosen to suit you.

Dry needling, if suitable

Used for some muscle-related pain, after assessment. About dry needling.

Exercise and rehab

Exercises to continue between visits, drawing on Leo's strength and conditioning training.

Referral when needed

If something needs a GP, scans or another practitioner, Leo will tell you and refer you on.

Your questions, answered

Chiropractic FAQs

Do I need a referral?

No GP referral is generally needed for a private appointment. DVA, EPC and WorkCover claims have their own referral rules, so mention these when you book.

What happens at the first visit?

The Initial Consultation is 45 minutes. It covers your history, orthopaedic and neurological tests and a check of how you move. Leo then explains what he found and your options. If treatment is appropriate and you agree, it can start in that visit.

Do adjustments hurt, and what is the cracking sound?

Most people feel pressure rather than pain. The sound is gas released from the joint, and it doesn't mean a bone has been "put back". Mild soreness for a day or two is common. Adjustments are only one option, so tell Leo if you would rather avoid them.

Are there risks?

Like any treatment, chiropractic care has risks. Temporary soreness, stiffness or headache are the most common, and serious complications are rare. Leo screens for these and talks you through the risks before treatment.

How many visits will I need?

It depends on your concern and your goals. Leo gives you an estimate after the assessment and reviews it as you go. You decide whether to continue at each stage.

Can I claim on my health fund?

Kinisi accepts major private health funds, with rebates on the spot. How much you get back depends on your extras cover, so check with your fund.
